Kid's App Series: Math Blaster HyperBlast 2 HD

I just love testing out new Apps for kids, but when they come with an educational component I feel like both my kid and me win!  HyperBlaster 2 is from the creators of JumpStart and MathBlasters.com and this newest App aligns well with the high level of fun and learning that I associate with the brand name.

HyperBlaster Version 2 can be customized for your child by choosing the level (easy, medium, hard) and the math skill (see below):

Each area of math can them be broken down into problems that focus on low integers, or ones that will challenge you by covering the entire range.  For example, since LoLo (age 5) is just working on low level addition and subtraction I chose the level that only did numbers below 8.

Once you have set your level and area of focus you are then ready to ride your rocket through the floating race track.  LoLo loved that it was so easy to steer by simply tilting your iPad, and he had a blast shooting down all the targets for extra points.  Throughout the game you are asked to solve the math problems, then continue on racing.

HyperBlaster Version 2 is a fun way to help your child learn their math skills which is far superior to the drill-and-kill method.  Ugh, remember that one Moms?

Check it out today on your iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone.

  1. I think these type of educational video games are very helpful in learning maths as they like to play games and maths is not liked by kids.
