Kid's App Series: A Cat Named Egg by Flying Books-Sale This Week Only!

I just love children's books, and no not because I am a Reading Specialist, but because of the reaction
I see in my kids as I read them.  Now with the convenience of Apps on our iPad I am always looking for the latest and greatest out there to bring books to life.

Flying Books App offers many different stories that can be read aloud to your little one.  I tested out A Cat Named Egg, which got my attention with the title even before I began reading it!  The cute story is about an old "cat lady" who had an interesting collection of cats with funny names and characteristics (the kids really liked Vincent the marshmallow eater); however, the main character is Egg. The funny and delightful tale will take you on the most extraordinary journey of Egg's life and help you to understand why he was named after a breakfast staple!

I appreciated that A Cat Named Egg was a simple book not loaded down with interactive touch-and-move features, but rather had the story keeping my kid's attention.  My favorite feature was that I could record and save my own voice reading the story!  What a great idea this would be for families with loved ones who are in the military, or unable to be present at nighttime readings.

Flying Books is currently offering a sale on various books for only .99c that runs from March 2 (Dr, Seuss's birthday) to March 7 (World Read Aloud Day), so make sure you stop by today and check them out!
