Top Toys for 2012 Series: Disneyland Adventures for XBOX360 Kinect

New addiction in our house?  Disneyland Adventures for the XBOX360 Kinect.  If you already own an XBOX or are planning on getting one soon, this is one game you can NOT live without!  As avid Disneyland fans who used to go there once a month when we lived in San Diego, we are now having withdrawals! So sad to have the kids ask us to go and we can't get there now without 2 flights or a 12 hour car ride!  Well, the good news is that Disneyland Adventures (while a second to the real thing) is as close as you can get without actually visiting Disneyland.
After reading tons of reviews online, we decided to purchase this game for the kids for Christmas and I am shocked at how close to the real park it is.  I am also happy to say that the game has a lot of different rides you can go on which vary in acceptable player age from 3 and up.

I like that you can easily access the park map, choose a land to visit, and go straight to the game you want.  Keep in mind that there are only a few "rides" to visit in each land and that you can't just walk around the entire park and go on everything (though you can navigate by walking around as well).  You can however explore the park, talk to characters (and get their signatures), and play games on the most famous rides.

LoLo and LaLa especially loved flying with Peter Pan in which they could earn points and navigate much like if you are really flying!  The features of this game were great, but slightly harder to navigate well if you are under 5.

The best activities for preschoolers on this game are The Princess Faire and Small World.  Both of these games are played by copying dance moves to earn coins.  LaLa (almost 4) was easily able to copy the dance moves and row the boat on Small World, and the preschooler-friendly graphics were great too.

Whatever age child (or adult) you have in your house, if you love Disneyland and Disneyworld then you will love Disneyland Adventures for the XBOX 360 Kinect.
