Acoustic Dreamland offers songs that were originally from the Allman Brothers, James Taylor, Wilco and Mary Chapin Carpenter, to name a few.
Here is what you get on the album:
Dreamland: This song create imagines for me of flying fairies and candy fields. Honestly, I have no idea why my dreams consist of such things, but it is a peaceful song and makes me smile!
Everything is Going to Be Alright: This simple song with guitar and a country-rustic vibe really make me think of rolling in the grass with my kids.
Blue Sky: I love the woman's voice in this one and harmonies of the man's voice in the chorus. The sound is so pure, and peaceful.
You Can Close Your Eyes: Time to put your little ones to sleep with this one. Great vocals, and wonderful lyrics about the love a parent has for child.
In the Land of Dreams: This song is more folksy than the others and adds a fun fantasy vibe to the soundtrack.
Here with Me: Taylor Swift watch out...you have some competition! Seriously, Frances England was definetly channeling Swift in this adorable song.
My Darling: "Go back to sleep my darling, and I will keep all the bad dreams away." The lyrics tell the story of a father's comforting words he offers his child.
Tomorrow: A peaceful song that reminds me of a mother's promise that wherever her child goes, she will be there (whether in spirit, or in real life).
The Hour of Sleep: This one if for me. I needed the lyrics in this one to remind me that the day is done, and my work is done...hint, I just need to let it all go and relax!
My Father's Waltz: The piano adds just the right amount of melody to the unique voice of the singer. I liked the lyrics and the overall "feel" of this one.
Next Time: Follow the words and lay down...until next time.
Putumayo's Acoustic Dreamland a 5 out of 5 because it was just what my kids (and more so myself) needed to help us relax during the hectic holiday season. Check it out for yourself...and stay tuned for a giveaway of this album coming soon to MLME!
