Clif Kid Z Bar-Great Organic Snack for Kids (and Adults)
I am always looking for a healthy, organic, nutritious snack for my kids that they can take to school or eat on the run. When my husband brought home Clif Kid Organic Z-Bars from Costco one day I thought "really, chocolate brownie...that can't be good." I decided to look at the calorie count and ingredients before I gave it to them, as I always do. I couldn't believe that it only had 130 calories, 10g of sugar (all of which are organic cane juice), and 3g of fiber. Compared to other kid's snacks, this is great. The packaging also boasts 12 vitamins and minerals, and 8 whole grains.
I also checked to see if they contained any dairy (since I am extremely lactose-intolerant) and they didn't! Now I was worried it was too good to be true! The only allergen listed is soy, but of course they may contain trace amounts of peanuts, dairy, wheat and tree nuts.
Hubby bought the combo box from Costco which contained the Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Chip, and the Honey Graham. We tried the Honey Graham first and it was great! Perfect one to take to school since they are not allowed anything "chocolate," under the strict licensing nutrition rules here in California. It tasted great! The taste was extremely moist (which surprised me a lot), and was pretty sweet. The kids really thought I was giving them dessert!
The other flavors Chocolate Brownie and Chocolate Chip are also great tasting, moist, and very filling. I have tried all 3 flavors myself (multiple times) and just love them as a quick snack! I used to eat Luna Bars for a dairy-free/filling snack, but these Clif Kid Z Bars are WAY cheaper, much moister, taste better, and keep me feeling full. I really look forward to trying the other flavors too! Blueberry sounds like a great quick breakfast substitute when my daughter refuses to eat.
