Lots of times when I am suggesting products to friends/family who are expecting their first child, I try to tell them what products they can do without. An infant swing, and a bouncer/rocker are usually at the top of the list. I just feel that they are used for such a limited amount of time (at least in my experience), and take up so much space, that you can really do without them.
That's why when I was pregnant with my third child I didn't want to get anything that would have a short life-span. Then I found the Fisher Price Infant-To-Toddler Rocker. I really like how this product is very stable, and sits farther off the ground than other rockers (good if you have pets, or other little kids). It has a nice reclined seat that can lay far back, or sit up for older kids. It also has 3 velcro on toys (one with music), in bright colors that my little one loves to play with. The rocker has a support bar that can be pulled forward to keep the rocker in one position (which is a nice position for a sleeping baby). One other feature (which honestly I never use), is the vibrator. My baby just finds it annoying rather than soothing.
I have also tested this rocker with my older kids by removing the toy bar, and sitting the seat fully upright, and it fits them great (4 and 3 years old), with some room to grow.
